Incorporated as a city, Addison might have a smaller population than Richardson, but you could call it the "little city that can". In Addison, one of the first things you’ll notice is that there’s green everywhere! The town has a love affair with green, and they’re passionate about their landscaping, making a commitment to maintain their beautiful parks, as well as their jogging trails, even their road medians! Whether you decide to ride around town, visiting neighborhoods, or take a walking tour, you’ll see that along with green and a splash of color, even the commercial properties have joined in, landscaping their areas. This is one town where “enjoying the scenery” has never been more true.
Not just a pretty face, Addison’s Independent School District has achieved record breaking success with its students and their accomplishments. Through joint efforts between students, teachers, and staff, Addison’s students have made a name for themselves, setting standards of achievement that each child can carry with them throughout their lives.
Kids and grownsups alike will enjoy any one of the seventeen parks that dot Addison, and even Rover will find a place to play at the Redding Trail Dog Park! Pack a picnic basket and a book, grab the family and come enjoy the day at any of the beautifully landscaped parks around Addison!
Throughout the year, Addison is host to events that every resident enjoys including Oktoberfest. Rain or shine, there will be room for polka fans, folk dancing, and authentic German food and fun for the whole family. Come join us during the year for our celebrations of life and how lucky we feel to live in Addison!
